A quick rundown

I'm tired so here's a super quick rundown of the past week...

* Callum had his first sleepover at a friends place last Sunday night. He had a great time but came home a little tired as they had stayed up until 11pm! Isn't that what sleepovers are all about?!
* I killed the hard drive on my laptop. I'd love to say it was purely accidental, but it wasn't. :( I slammed the lid down on Sunday morning during a meltdown/tanty and it scratched the life out of the hard drive. I had no idea they were that sensitive. So I am without my trusty laptop at the moment. I lost a bunch of things as I foolishly hadn't backed up my hard drive since the end of March. Another learning for me!
* Dale got sick (nasty gastro thing) on Saturday so I wasn't able to go to Jenna's girly pampering day. I was a bit disappointed but that's life! I spent some of the money I would have spent on the pampering by buying myself a present on Etsy. (It was Dale's suggestion!)
* Our fridge died on Wednesday night. RIP fridge. Our new fridge will be delivered this afternoon.
* Annabelle hasn't been sleeping well at night. I had no idea why. Dale and I have both done shifts of staying up with her, trying everything to get her sleep. In the past couple of nights we have just admitted defeat and put her in bed with us. She sleeps soundly then so at least we get to have some sleep, even if it is in a bed with a kicker!

School holidays going well

As we start the fifth day of the school holidays all is going well. Let's see, so far Callum has had a birthday, vomited on two separate days, seen 'Monsters Vs Aliens' at the cinema with his friend Aaron, had Aaron here to play, watched some TV, done a complete activity book (you know, the ones that look like school work!) and played lots of games. Today we are having a day of rest and relaxation with a quick trip to the shops thrown in. Have a great day!

Not a fantastic, in-focus photo of Annie, but then that kid never holds still long enough for me to get one!

Happy 5th birthday Callum!

He makes me smile. He makes me laugh. He makes me proud. And sometimes he drives me crazy! Happy birthday beautiful boy. May you always have the confidence to follow your dreams. I love you lots!

Easter, birthdays and a compliment

Callum had his first Easter Hat Parade at school yesterday. What fun! Mum, Annie and I helped him make his hat and then sat back and enjoyed watching him and his classmates parade, sing and have fun!

Last weekend Callum had his birthday (a sports party). He had a great time playing with his friends and I had a great time watching him interact with them. This year he requested a soccer field cake, and here it is...

I am looking forward to celebrating his fifth birthday with him tomorrow. It's hard to believe that my little man is five already! :)

I arrived at his classroom this morning armed with containers of cupcakes that Callum and I baked and decorated yesterday afternoon. His teacher smiled at me and gave me one of the greatest compliments I have ever received - "You were born to be a mother". Knowing how many parents she has seen during her 20+ years in teaching it was fantastic to hear that I am doing well.

GCD studio

I didn't even know about this company a few weeks ago, but now I regularly check their blog for more gorgeous pretties to look at. I dare you to go have a look too, especially since they are currently having a party! :)
